Portal: How to Make the Employee Calendar Visible for Managers

This guide explains how to enable the Employee Calendar for managers on the Manager Dashboard in the portal.

For a manager to view their team’s Employee Calendar on the portal, specific organisational role access and menu profile permissions must be configured.


Assign the Organisational Role

  1. Go to the People Management Dashboard.

  2. Open the Data Center.

  3. Select People Management.

  4. Click Maintain Organisational Roles by Person.

  5. Click Add to insert a new row.

  6. Complete the following fields:

    • Role: MGRESS

    • Org Group: Work Group

    • Date From: This will auto-populate with today’s date.

    • Org Group Item: Select the specific workgroup managed by this manager.

  7. Click Save.


Enable the Menu Profile

To display the calendar option on the Manager Dashboard, ensure the following menu profile is enabled for the manager:

  • Menu Profile: WFM_EMP_CALENDAR_MGR

How to check or enable the menu profile:

  1. Go to Security.

  2. Select User Management.

  3. Query the manager’s user account.

  4. Click on Manage Account.

  5. Go to Menu Profiles.

  6. Search for WFM_EMP_CALENDAR_MGR and ensure it is enabled.


📌Note: The MGRESS role links the manager to the relevant Work Group, allowing them to view employee calendars for their team. Without the WFM_EMP_CALENDAR_MGR menu profile, the Employee Calendar will not be visible on the Manager Dashboard, even if the organisational role is assigned.
