Portal Error: Leave must be entered in full days segments when adding absence

Resolve the error message ‘Leave must be entered in full days segments’ when submitting half-day leave requests via the Manager Dashboard

Managers sometimes encounter this error when trying to add a half-day absence for an employee. The issue occurs because the leave balance segment is set to full days only. To fix this, you need to update the leave balance setup to allow partial day segments.

Steps:

  1. From the Manager Dashboard menu, click People Management.

  2. Next to Employees, click View.

  3. Select the employee and click Balances.

  4. Find the relevant leave balance and click the three-dot menu next to it.

  5. Click Edit Setup.

  6. Change the Segment setting from Full to None.

  7. Save your changes.
