This error occurs when submitting a timesheet claim against a balance that is incorrectly configured to require full day segments.

Root Cause

At the employee level, the Balance Segment validation is set to enforce full day segments. This prevents partial day entries (e.g., 3 hours) from being processed for the affected pay code.


Back Office Steps

  1. Go to CoreTime.

  2. Click Person Data.

  3. Select Person Maintenance.

  4. Locate the relevant employee and click on Current Balances.

  5. Identify and select the Balance linked to the pay code causing the error.

  6. In the Balance Segment drop-down, change the selection to:

    cssCopyEditNone
  7. Click Save.


Why This Works

By setting Balance Segment to None, the system removes the restriction that forces claims to be entered in full day units. This allows the employee to submit claims for partial day hours without error.
