The Intelligent Roster Settings screen contains advanced configuration options for SmartRoster. These settings control how the Roster agent interprets and analyses the roster, separate from the OR-Tools engine configuration.
Shift configuration
The Shift Configuration tab controls how SmartRoster handles shift data when performing its analysis. These settings allow you to define shift patterns and rules that the Roster agent uses when evaluating coverage and fairness.
Validation rules
The Validation Rules tab in Intelligent Roster Settings controls which validation rules the Roster agent checks when analysing a completed roster. This is separate from the OR-Tools Validation Rules configuration, which governs constraints during roster generation.
đNote: The validation rules selected here determine which compliance issues the Roster agent will flag in its recommendations. Selecting a rule here does not prevent the roster from being saved â it only means the Roster agent will highlight breaches for the manager to review.
General settings
The General tab contains the Get AI Suggestions toggle. This toggle controls whether the Roster agent automatically generates recommendations after a roster is built.
Turn on: the Roster agent automatically analyses the roster and generates recommendations when SmartRoster is run.
Turn off: the Roster agent does not run automatically. Managers can still trigger analysis manually from the SmartRoster dashboard.
đNote: Turning off Get AI Suggestions does not disable SmartRoster. The dashboard, KPI tiles, and Roster Confidence Score remain available. Only the automatic generation of Roster agent recommendations is affected.
