The Roster Confidence Score is a single composite score, displayed as a percentage on the SmartRoster dashboard, that summarises the overall quality of a roster. It is calculated as a weighted average of the four KPI category scores. You configure the weight assigned to each category to reflect your organisation's priorities.
How the score is calculated
Each of the four KPI categories — Financial Metrics, Compliance, Staffing and Coverage, and Fairness — is given a weight. The Roster Confidence Score is the sum of each category score multiplied by its weight, divided by the total weight.
📌Note: A category with a higher weight has a greater influence on the overall Roster Confidence Score. If Compliance is weighted more heavily than Fairness, a compliance breach will reduce the score more significantly than a fairness imbalance of the same severity.
Configure confidence score weights
Set the weight for each KPI category to reflect how much influence each should have on the overall score.
Go to Smart Roster and select Configuration.
Select Summary Configuration.
Select the Confidence Score tab.
Enter a weight value for each KPI category.
Select Save.
📌Note: Weight values do not need to add up to 100. SmartRoster normalises the values automatically when calculating the score.
Interpreting the score
The Roster Confidence Score is displayed as a percentage on the SmartRoster dashboard tile. The score uses the same RAG colour model as individual KPIs, with the thresholds defined in the KPI configuration screen.
Green: the roster meets or exceeds the defined quality standards across weighted categories.
Amber: one or more categories are below the preferred threshold but above the minimum acceptable level.
Red: one or more categories are in breach of the minimum acceptable threshold and the Roster agent has identified issues requiring action.
