Pay code still counts bank holidays after Ignore Company Holidays is set to Off

Check the Reason for Absence (RFA) linked to the pay code when bank holidays are still counted or excluded.

Written by James Pardy

If bank holidays are still counted or excluded on an absence pay code after you set Ignore Company Holidays to Off, the cause may be the Reason for Absence (RFA) linked to that pay code.

An RFA can apply its own handling of bank holiday dates, separately from the Ignore Company Holidays setting on the pay code. This includes school holidays included in a Bank Holiday Scheme. If the RFA has a bank holiday toggle turned on, it can override the behaviour you expect from the pay code setting.

Check the RFA linked to the pay code

Check whether the RFA linked to the affected pay code has a bank holiday toggle enabled.

⚠️Important: Turning off the bank holiday toggle on the RFA resolved the issue for at least one customer whose pay code was still incorrectly counting bank holiday dates.
