You run SmartRoster from the SmartRoster dashboard. The options available to you depend on which roster generation engines are enabled in your configuration.
Select a team and period
Before running SmartRoster, select the team area and the roster period you want to generate or analyse.
Go to Smart Roster and select the Dashboard.
Select the team area from the team area drop-down.
Select the roster week from the period selector.
Select the run option you want to use.
Standard run
A standard run uses whichever single engine is configured for the selected team area. If only one engine is enabled, this is the only run option available.
Select Run.
SmartRoster generates the roster using the configured engine.
The Roster agent analyses the output and generates recommendations.
The dashboard updates to display the KPI tiles, Roster Confidence Score, and any recommendations.
OR-Tools preview mode
When OR-Tools is enabled, the roster generated by OR-Tools is shown in preview mode before it is saved. You can review the roster and choose to apply it or discard it.
Select Submit to save the OR-Tools roster and continue with the Roster agent analysis.
Select Discard to cancel the OR-Tools output. The existing roster is preserved and no changes are made.
Run All
Run All is available when both AutoRoster and OR-Tools are enabled. It runs both engines simultaneously and displays the results of all rosters side by side, allowing you to compare outputs before selecting one to apply.
Select Run All.
SmartRoster runs both AutoRoster and OR-Tools.
The results are displayed side by side with KPI scores for each.
Select the roster you want to apply, then select Submit.
Compare Engines
Compare Engines allows you to compare the AutoRoster and OR-Tools outputs after both have been generated, without triggering a new run. This option is available on the dashboard after a Run All has been completed.
đNote: Compare Engines does not re-run the engines. It displays the results of the most recent Run All for that team area and period.
