The Optimisation Percentage is a colour-coded badge that measures how well your roster matches predicted staffing demand for a given day or week. You can see it in both Daily View and Weekly View, giving you a quick, at-a-glance indicator of scheduling accuracy.
đNote: The badge is only visible if Display on Day View or Display on Week View is enabled. These settings are found at XD > WFM Admin Dashboard > WFM Configuration > Roster General Settings > Optimisation Percentage. The percentage thresholds and colour codes used for the badge are also configurable per organisation.
Where the badge appears
The badge appears in different locations depending on which view you are using.
Daily View
In Daily View, each day button in the day selector shows its own Optimisation Percentage badge, so you can compare performance across days at a glance.
Weekly View
In Weekly View, two badges are visible at the same time:
A single badge in the Control Bar summarises the optimisation score for the whole week.
Each day column header also shows that day's own badge.
Both badges are visible simultaneously â one does not replace the other.
How the score is calculated
The Optimisation Percentage is calculated by looking at every 15-minute interval across the day independently, rather than comparing daily totals.
The score drops if you are either overstaffed or understaffed at any single interval.
The score only reaches 100% when the scheduled headcount matches the required headcount in every interval.
â ď¸Important: Even if your total headcount for the day looks correct â for example, 25 required and 25 scheduled â the score can still fall well below 100% if those headcounts are mismatched across different time slots. Overstaffing at 1:00 pm and understaffing at 3:45 pm would both drag the score down, even though the daily totals balance out.
Weekly and period-level scores
For weekly or period-level figures, the score is demand-weighted rather than a simple average of daily scores. Busier days count proportionally more in the rolled-up number.
