Control bar in EVO Roster

Understand the controls available at the top of the EVO Roster Details screen in Daily and Weekly View.

Written by James Pardy

The Control Bar runs across the top of the EVO Roster Details screen in both Daily and Weekly View. It contains the primary navigation, status, and publishing controls for the roster. This article explains what each control does and how to use it.

Team Area dropdown

Use the Team Area dropdown to select which team area you want to view. The dropdown displays a hierarchical tree of all team areas available to you. Only employees assigned to the selected team area and its sub-areas are displayed in the grid.

  • Click the dropdown and type to search for a team area by code or name.

  • Selecting a new team area reloads the roster data for that team.

  • Your last-selected team area is saved and persists between sessions.

Keyboard shortcut: press Alt+T to open the Team Area dropdown.

📌Note: The team areas available to you are determined by your manager access rights, configured in Person Team Area Assignment.

Period dropdown

Use the Period dropdown to select the roster period you want to view. Periods are always weekly, identified by a number such as 202626, and defined in the system calendar as a 7-day roster cycle. Changing the period loads the roster for that week.

Keyboard shortcut: press Alt+W to open the Period dropdown.

View Mode toggle

Use the View Mode toggle to switch between Weekly View and Daily View. Switching views does not lose your place — the day currently selected carries across when you move into Daily View.

  • Weekly View — a compact 7-day summary with shift patterns per day.

  • Daily View — a scrollable 24-hour timeline with shift bars, breaks, and tasks for a single day.

Keyboard shortcut: press Ctrl+W to toggle between the two views.

📌Note: The screen is being updated to open on Weekly View by default, so you can see the full week before focusing on a particular day.

Day selection (Daily View)

When in Daily View, the Control Bar displays a row of seven day buttons — one for each day of the selected roster period, typically Monday to Sunday. Each button shows the day name and date, and an optimisation percentage badge underneath if configured. See the Optimisation Percentage article for what the badge means.

Indicator

Meaning

Filled or highlighted button

Currently selected day — the timeline shows this day's data.

Border highlight

Today's date, even when not selected.

Ghost button

An unselected day.

On narrower screens where all seven day buttons cannot fit, left and right arrow buttons appear to scroll through the days. Edge fade masks indicate more days are available in that direction.
