Written by James Pardy

You can create a custom report using the Audit Details (Time) view or use a pre-built audit report template from the Insight Store.

Use the Audit Details (Time) view

The Audit Details (Time) view provides audit information for changes made to time-related records, including absences and timesheet hours.

The audit information can help you:

  • Identify the user who made a change.

  • Compare the old value with the new value.

  • Identify the record affected using the available key columns.

  • Review changes and understand the sequence of updates.

Create a custom audit report

  1. Go to Insight Reports.

  2. Create a new report.

  3. Select the Audit Details (Time) view.

  4. Add the following columns:

    • Username – identifies the user who made the change.

    • Old Value – shows the value before the change.

    • New Value – shows the value after the change.

    • Key Columns – provide additional information to identify the affected record.

  5. Save and run the report.

  6. Review the results to identify and investigate changes to absence or timesheet records.

Example

If a timesheet value has been changed, the report can be used to identify who made the change, what the value was previously, and what it was changed to.

Use a pre-built audit report

If you do not want to create a report from scratch, you can use an existing audit report template from the Insight Store.

  1. Go to Insight > Store.

  2. Search for the required audit report template.

  3. Download Audit - Data Updates Audit Report 2.

  4. Use the report as provided or customise it to meet your audit requirements.

What's next?

Use the audit report results to investigate unexpected changes, confirm updates have been made correctly, and support your organisation's data-auditing processes.
