There are a few reasons how this could occur. To fix this, follow the steps below.

Condition 1

If the Length of Service Parameter is set to calculate on "Period Start", then it will give the LOS to any employee at the start of the balance calendar if they reach LOS entitlement within the balance year. For example, if the employee didn't reach LOS until 30-DEC-22, they will get it on 01-JAN-22 (assuming the balance runs from Jan to Dec-2022 respectively )

πŸ“Œ Note: If the Length of Service Parameter is set to calculate on "Period Start" for the Annual Leave Balance assigned to the employee, then LOS has to be assigned at the Employee Level.

To set up LOS at the employee level on Backoffice, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to CoreTime

  2. Select Pers Data

  3. Click on Pers Maintenance

  4. Query the employee

  5. Click on Balance Setup

  6. Add in the LOS code

To set up LOS at the employee level on Portal, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to People Management/ WFM Admin Dashboard

  2. Query the employee

  3. Click 'Edit Setup' on the Annual Leave Balance

  4. Add in the LOS code

Condition 2

If the Length of Service Parameter is set to Calculate on Anniversary, it will look at the Anniversary Date and the option selected on the field, "Employee Start Date"

The Balance Parameters for the Annual Leave Balance requires the correct Calculate On indicator to be Enabled.

To amend 'Calculate On' Parameter on Backoffice, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to CoreTime

  2. Select System Params

  3. Click on Balance

  4. Select Balance Parameters

  5. From the list of values, select Balance

  6. Click Length of Service

  7. Tick on one of the required Calculate On indicators:

    • Anniversary

    • Period Start

    • Post Appointment Period Start

    • Post Appointment Anniversary

    • Shift Type Anniversary

  8. Click Save

  9. Run a Balance recalculation for the Balance and Employee

Condition 3

If the 'Override Start Date' field is updated, it will automatically update the 'Continuous Service Started' field to the same date as the date entered on 'Override Start Date'. In this case, the field 'Employee Start Date' should be updated to 'Continuance Date' on the Length of Service section on the Balance parameter on Back-Office in order to have the correct 'Length of Service' calculated

To amend 'Calculate On' Parameter on Backoffice, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to CoreTime

  2. Select System Params

  3. Click on Balance

  4. Select Balance Parameters

  5. From the list of values, select Balance

  6. Click Length of Service

  7. Update 'Employee Start Date' to 'Continuous Date'

  8. Click Save

  9. Run a Balance recalculation for the Balance and Employee
