The 'After 3 Hours Becomes XX' rule lets you apply a tiered overtime rate — for example, Time 1.25 for the first three hours, then Time 1.5 thereafter. You configure this rule in the Premiums screen within Attendance Rules.
⚠️Important: This rule adds only the additional multiplier to the timesheet (for example, 0.25), not a replacement of the original pay code.
Configure the rule in the Premiums screen
Navigate to the Premiums screen and configure the following fields:
Field | Description |
Trigger Pay Code | A non-payroll impacting trigger pay code. |
Worked Pay Code | The pay code that is being worked. |
Premium Pay Code | The additional premium to apply. |
Threshold | The hours threshold at which the premium applies (for example, 3 hours). |
Multiplier | The additional rate to apply above the base pay code (for example, 0.25). |
Overflow Pay Code | The pay code applied once the overflow threshold is reached. |
Overflow Threshold | The number of hours at which the overflow pay code takes effect. |
🤓Tip: Using a multiplier of 0.25 alongside a base pay code of Time 1 results in an effective rate of Time 1.25 for the first three hours, rising to Time 1.5 once the overflow threshold is reached.
