Configure rehire balance entitlements

Automatically adjust balance entitlements and leave request history when employees are rehired within the same calendar year.

When an employee is rehired within the same calendar year, ensure their balance entitlements calculate correctly for their new employment period. This prevents previous employment data from affecting their current entitlements.

You can configure two settings to manage rehired employee balances.

Setting

Description

Calculate Rehire Entitlement

Ensures entitlements calculate from the rejoin date on personal level balances.

Hide Historical Leave for Rehires

Update the My Request widget to display current leave requests only.


Enable calculate rehire entitlement

The Calculate Rehire Entitlement toggle creates a rule that ignores the previous employment period. When enabled, the system:

  • Excludes leave taken values prior to the rejoin date.

  • Excludes entitlements gained during previous employment.

  • Excludes manual adjustments completed prior to the rejoin date.

  • Calculates entitlements from rejoining to the end of the balance leave period.

To enable this feature, watch the video or follow the steps below.

  1. From the dashboard menu, select WFM Admin Dashboard.

  2. Click WFM Configuration, then search for and click Balance Configuration.

  3. For the relevant balance, click the three-dot menu, then click View/Edit Balance.

  4. Click the Summary tab, enable the Calculate Rehire Entitlement toggle.

  5. Click Save.

πŸ“ŒNote: You must configure this setting for each personal level balance where rehire entitlement calculations are required.


Hide historical leave requests for rehires

The Hide Historical Leave for Rehires toggle clears annual leave request history from the My Request widget for rehired employees. This ensures employees only see leave requests from their current employment period.

To enable this feature, watch the video or follow the steps below.

  1. From the dashboard menu, select WFM Admin Dashboard.

  2. Click WFM Configuration, then search for and click General Settings.

  3. Enable the Hide Historical Leave for Rehires toggle and click Save.
