When setting up a Leave Request Pay Code in WFM, it is recommended to copy the configuration from an existing, similar Pay Code. This ensures the new Pay Code behaves consistently with system expectations.

Why Use a Template Pay Code?

When your WFM system is first implemented, a set of default Pay Codes is typically provided. These defaults serve as the baseline configuration for each Pay Code type, including leave-related Pay Codes.

By copying an existing Pay Code of the same type, you reduce the risk of misconfiguration and ensure smooth integration with leave workflows.

Best Practice Recommendations

  • Always clone an existing Pay Code with a similar function rather than creating from scratch.

  • Ensure workflow process codes (Leave Request and Cancel Process) are populated to support approvals and cancellations.

  • Check roster and visibility settings to maintain transparency for co-workers and the employee.

  • Review Absence Type configuration to align with reporting and statutory requirements.

Additional Information

  • Misconfigured Pay Codes can lead to payroll errors, incorrect balances, or failed leave approvals.

  • If you are unsure which Pay Code to use as a template, consult your HR or payroll configuration lead.
