Use Working Time Group Maintenance screen to configure Working Time Parameters formerly known as Working Time Groups in Back Office. These parameters govern how employee working time is calculated, limited, and monitored; covering average and maximum hours, rest break entitlements, pay code groupings, and roster break rules.
đNote: No data migration is necessary. The system reads and writes the existing Working Time Group data directly from the Back Office.
The screen is designed for administrators, implementation consultants and support teams.
Before you start
Any infringement codes used in rest break rules must already be set up.
All pay codes used in pay code groups must already exist.
Users need the correct WFM Configuration access permission.
Access Working Time Group Maintenance screen
To access the Working Time Group Maintenance screen in PeopleXD Workforce Management, follow the steps below. â
â ď¸Important: Ensure you have the following menu options enabled.
Function | Menu ID | System |
Working Time Parameters | CONFIG_SET_MENU.WORKING_TIME_PARAMETERS | CorePortal |
Reference Data | CONFIG_SET_MENU.REFERENCE_DATA | CorePortal |
The user can then
Click WFM Configuration then click Reference Data.
Search and click Working Time Parameters.
How a group is structured
Each working time parameter group has four tabs, each saved independently:
Working Time Limits: This is the first tab shown when you open a group. Reference period, average and maximum hours, night work limits, and calculation settings.
Rest Break Rules: In-work, daily, and weekly rest breaks, plus daily working time limits.
Pay Code Groups: Pay code groupings for the parameter.
Roster Break Rules: Break rules specific to roster patterns.
You assign groups to employees via their Work Group, or less commonly directly at employee level, see assigned level.
List screen
The List screen shows all existing groups by code and description. From here you can:
Add new working time group: Enter a Code and Description, then configure the four tabs.
View/Edit (via the ⎠menu): Opens the Working Time Limits tab; all four tabs accessible from here.
Copy: Duplicates a group under a new code or description, carrying across all settings.
Delete: Blocked if the group is currently assigned to any workgroup or employee. Check via Actions then select View Workgroups/Employees Assigned before attempting deletion.
Rest break rules
In-Work Rest Breaks: Entitlements table (up to 10 rows) mapping worked-hours bands to break duration, plus an infringement code and an optional on-screen infringement count..
Daily Rest Breaks: Minimum daily rest hours, infringement code, and count toggle are always shown. Extra fields (Time Threshold, Rest Hours Increment, Grace Time, Offset Pattern Start Time, and Offset Code) only appear when the REST AFTER OVERTIME advanced setting is set to Y.
â ď¸Important: REST AFTER OVERTIME is an advanced system option. You need involvement from an Implementation Consultant to change it.
Weekly Rest Breaks: Minimum weekly rest hours, infringement code and count toggle.
Daily Working Time Limits: Maximum consecutive hours worked, a tolerance buffer, and an infringement code.
All hours fields accept decimals (for example, 7.5). If you navigate away with unsaved changes, you will be prompted to save or discard them.
Pay code groups
A table where each row is a pay code group with a free-text Title and multiple Pay Code drop-down columns.
Roster break rules
Configures break rules for roster patterns. Header shows Name and UK Site, consistent with the other tabs.
View assignments
The Actions button on any group's detail screen offers two read-only, searchable, and filterable views:
View Workgroups Assigned: Workgroup code, name, company, holiday scheme, shift types, timesheets, calendar, label, active status or people.
View Employees Assigned: Employee number, name, Appointment ID (hidden on non-multi-appointment systems), job title, work group, department, and Assigned Level (shows whether the parameter comes from the employee record directly or via their Work Group).
If nothing is assigned, these screens simply show no results.
